Research Questions
Choose a Question that is not Too Broad or Too Narrow
For example, the following question would be considered Too Narrow:
What percentage of juveniles in the U.S. are obese?
The answer to this question is a statistic.
Another example, the following question would be considered Too Broad:
What can we do to reduce juvenile obesity in the U.S.?
It implies that the researcher will cover many tactics for reducing juvenile obesity that could be used throughout the country. Also, the use of pronouns such as "we" are not appropriate in a research question. Be specific about who would be taking action. For example, replace "we" with "The United States Government" or "public schools" or "parents" or "pediatricians".
