What next?
Some periodical databases may not have the full text of the article you want available online. When only a summary is available in the database, you can check the library catalog to see if the Library subscribes to a print copy of the periodical.
For example, what if you searched one of our databases and found an article from American Craft magazine that was not full-text within the database. How could you check to see if the Library had a print copy of this magazine instead?
If an article is not available in full-text within one of the databases, it is possible that the library subscribes to a print copy of the periodical. You can search the periodical title (not the article title) in the Library Catalog to see if the library subscribes to a print version of the periodical (magazine, journal, newspaper) and then come to the Library to see the magazine.
Make sure you have copied the citation for the article you are interested in so that you know which issue of the magazine to look in for your article.
Most of the sources in the library databases are full-text articles so you don't have to take this extra step ... but if you need to, now you know how.
