Google Advanced Search
By using Advanced Search in Google, just as in the Library Catalog and the Library Databases, you can make your search even more specific thereby retrieving even fewer but more tailored results for your search.
To access Advanced Search in Google, go to: https://www.google.com/ Links to an external site.click on the Settings link and then select "Advanced Search." Alternatively, access Advanced Search directly from: https://www.google.com/advanced_search. Links to an external site.
Here are a few easy search modifications that might bring you back more appropriate results:
- Try limiting your search by domain so that you only search in .org or .edu sites
- Limit your search so the the terms only appear in the title of the page. Requiring that your search terms are found (occur) in the title of a Web site reduces the number of pages found and increases the likelihood that the pages will be focused on your topic.
