HIST-3B-MOD WORLD HIST: 1500-PRESENT-L1-22310

This 100% ONLINE course studies world history from the 1500s to the present. The course focuses on exploring the political, economic, social, and cultural factors that have shaped the historical development of the modern world and examines the impact of issues such as citizenship and sovereignty, class, gender, and race/ethnicity on world history and peoples around the world. Major themes this semester will include historical cause and effect and the difference between intended and unintended consequences.

Specific emphasis is placed on students developing historical understanding as well as critical thinking and creative thinking skills and practices to become more informed citizens and gain a deeper understanding of what has contributed to forming and shaping the modern world and the people in it.
