HIST-3B-MOD WORLD HIST: 1500-PRESENT-L1-41509

This 100% ONLINE 12 WEEK course studies world history from the 1500s to the present. The course focuses on exploring the political, economic, social, and cultural factors that have shaped the historical development of the modern world and examines the impact of issues such as citizenship and sovereignty, class, gender, and race/ethnicity on world history and peoples around the world. Major themes this semester will include historical cause and effect and the difference between intended and unintended consequences.
Specific emphasis is placed on developing historical understanding as well as critical thinking and creative thinking skills and practices to become more informed citizens of the world through an examination of early history to better understand what’s shaped the world and the people in it.
