 Online Homework: Online Homework MyOpenMath (MOM) is free. You must do the     homework and take the exams in the Canvas.

 Course/Catalog Description: This course introduces theorems on limits and continuous functions, derivatives, differentials and applications: Fundamental theorems of calculus and applications; properties of exponential, logarithmic, and inverse trigonometric functions, and hyperbolic functions.

 

Attendance Policy: It is essential that you participate in class and regularly ask questions in order to succeed in this course and your future math courses. Therefore, attendance is required but not mandatory. Attendance may be taken at any point during the class.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grading Policy: There is no makeup exams and a final exam unless emergency condition. We will have homework assignments, three midterms and a final exam. A student must earn above or equal to 70% to pass the course. The break-down as follows

Participation: 5%

Homework: 35%

Two Exams: 40 % (each exam 20%)

Final Exam: 20% (mandatory)

 

A: 90%-100%

B: 80%-89%

C: 70%-79%

D: 60%-69%

F: Below 60%

Extra Credit (5%): Extra credit will be given to students who log over 15 hours in the learning Center of the Spring semester Merritt Tutoring (Pisces) or Online Tutoring through Canvas or Visiting Office hours.

Students Learning Outcomes: Students should be expected to

  1. Expand basic principles of calculus to model physical systems in 3-dimensions.
  2. Apply appropriate vector operations to solve a variety of real-world phenomena.

Screening

Following the CDC Guidelines, employees and students are directed to stay away from District facilities when experiencing COVID 19 symptoms, have tested positive, and/or have been in close contact with someone who has symptoms while waiting for COVD-19 test results. The District should develop and require that all employees, students, contractors or visitors, should attest to not currently experiencing symptoms associated with COVID 19 as defined by the CDC, including fever, cough shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat or loss of taste or smell. Further, that employees, students, contractors, visitors have not come into close contact (six-feet or less for extended periods) with a person experiencing COVID 19 symptoms or have tested positive in the past 14 days, or traveled outside of the country or region on the CDC’s Level 3 Travel Health Notice within 14 days.
